DONATIONS

By donating to Albury & District Historical Society you will assist in our efforts to research, preserve and record the rich history and heritage of our city and district.

Currently, the major goal of our Society is to expand the coverage of Albury newspapers on the National Library of Australia’s Trove site. We aim to digitise newspapers from the first local newspaper of 1856, the Border Post through to the Border Morning Mail of December 1954.

As of July 2023, we have coverage from 1860 to 1951 with some gaps. It is an expensive project – our most recent order with NLA was for about 10,000 pages at $1.54 per page for the Border Morning Mail of 1950/51 .

Listen here to A&DHS vice-president Greg Ryan’s radio interview with Sandra Moon of ABC Goulburn Murray on September 21, 2023. Greg explains what our digitising program is trying to achieve and the progress that we have made.

You might like to consider contributing to the project with a donation.
